This is a true one-of-a-kind piece. The olive wood bread bowl in these photos is the exact bowl that ships to you — carved from a single solid piece of Mediterranean olive wood, hand-finished and food-safe. At 69 cm long it's one of the largest solid olive wood bread bowls we've ever offered: long enough to lay out two French baguettes with room to spare, or fill with lemons, oranges, or any other seasonal decor that anchors the whole room.
What you're getting: this exact bowl, 69 cm (about 27 inches) long, 12 cm (about 4.75 inches) wide, and 6 cm (about 2.4 inches) tall, weighing 1150 grams. One solid piece of olive wood — not glued or joined — with deep, swirling figure and warm honey-to-chestnut color running end to end. A piece this long in a single slab of olive wood is genuinely rare; most bowls this size are pieced together, and most olive wood never comes this large. We feel lucky if we can source wood to make 1-2 like this per year.
Why olive wood: it's one of the hardest, densest woods there is, with a tight closed grain that resists water, odors, and staining far better than open-grained woods. It won't impart flavor to your food, and with a little care an olive wood piece can last for generations. The wild, swirling grain and warm color mean no two pieces look alike — and this one is truly the only one of its kind.
Real Photos, Every Time
Every photo in our shop is our own — shot by us, of the real piece, in real light. No stock images, no AI.
Doing Good — No Greenwashing
The designs are ours — our own shapes, or existing forms we've refined together with the artisans we work with directly — then made to our spec, inspected, and hand-finished by us before they ship straight to you. No middlemen, no distributors, no drop-shipping. We believe in true sustainability, quality over quantity, and treading lightly: olive wood is a renewable resource, harvested from trees that have already given their fruit.
Care: hand wash in warm water, dry right away, and never soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Every so often, wipe it with a food-grade wood conditioner to keep the grain rich and protected. Treated this way, it lasts for years.
One of a Kind: this is a single, one-off piece — when it's gone, it's gone. The bowl in the photos is exactly what you'll receive, down to the grain. With a piece this size and figure, the wood is the whole story; the dark mineral streaks and the flow of the grain are never a flaw, always a fingerprint.
A piece like this makes an heirloom gift for a wedding, a housewarming, a bread baker, or anyone who loves a table that looks lived-in and cared for.
