A long, olive wood bread bowl carved to hold a whole baguette — the kind of useful piece that ends up out on the counter every day. Set a fresh loaf in it at dinner, or fill it with lemons, oranges, or seasonal items for a wonderful table centerpiece. One piece of dense Mediterranean olive wood, hand-finished and food-safe.

What you’re getting: one large olive wood bread bowl, about 40 cm (roughly 16 inches) long and 8 to 9 cm (about 3.5 inches) wide, weighing 750 to 800 grams. This is the large size — long enough for a standard baguette end to end.  A real day-to-day usable centerpiece.

Why olive wood: it’s one of the hardest, densest woods in the kitchen, with a tight closed grain that resists water, odors, and staining far better than open-grained woods. It won’t impart flavor to your food, and with a little care an olive wood piece can last for decades. The wild, swirling grain and warm color mean no two bowls look alike.

The designs are ours — our own shapes, or existing forms we’ve refined together with the artisans we work with directly — then made to our spec, inspected, and hand-finished by us before they ship straight to you. No middlemen, no distributors, no drop-shipping. We believe in true sustainability, quality over quantity, and treading lightly: olive wood is a renewable resource, harvested from trees that have already given their fruit.

Care: hand wash in warm water, dry right away, and never soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Every so often, wipe it with a food-grade wood conditioner to keep the grain rich and protected. Treated this way, it lasts indefinitely.

Good to Know: olive wood is a natural material, so color, grain, and the small dark mineral streaks vary from bowl to bowl. The one you receive will be its own piece — never a flaw, always a fingerprint. Exact length and width vary slightly with each bowl.
