A hand-turned olive wood platform — a simply beautiful, solid round dish that does more than one thing.  Originally designed as a platform for our spinning tops, we have also realized that this item has multiple uses in the home.  Perfect for a bottle of olive oil, or a bottle of wine, ours currently serves as a base for our TruthSeeker pure beeswax candles in our own home.  Each one is turned from a single piece of premium Mediterranean olive wood, so the swirling grain is one of a kind.

What you're getting: a single olive wood platform, or a set of three — each about 5.75 inches across and 0.75 inch thick, around 200 grams. Expertly crafted from solid premium olive wood — sanded smooth and finished with our all natural food safe wood conditioner made in-house. No two are quite alike.

Ways to use it: a stage for spinning tops to spin and settle on; a base for a pillar or jar candle; a little pedestal or coaster under a bottle of olive oil or wine; or simply a warm piece of olive wood set out on the counter or table. Perfect for spinning tops, and for just about anything else.

Why olive wood: it's one of the hardest, densest woods there is, with a tight closed grain that resists water, odors, and staining far better than open-grained woods. The wild, swirling grain and warm color mean no two platforms look alike, and with a little care a piece like this can last for generations.

Care: wipe it clean with a damp cloth and dry it right away; never soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Every so often, wipe it with a food-grade wood conditioner to keep the grain rich and protected. Treated this way, it lasts lifetimes.
